* Effective in Q4 of 2024, the CAD Calls for Service Dashboard has been updated to reflect the volume of incidents that led to a 911 call or calls for service at a given location, rather than the raw volume of 911 calls, whether or not multiple calls concerned the same incident or occurrence. E911 calls are managed and reported separately via the E911 system. This change in data collection and visualization is part of the Suffolk County Police Department's continuing efforts to modernize its Information Technology and business intelligence systems. The CAD Calls for Service Dashboard now more accurately reflects the allocation of police resources stemming from emergency calls for service across call types. Nonetheless, these figures are preliminary and subject to further analysis and revision. Data sources, refresh rates, and reporting intervals vary per dashboard. Data is sourced from several Department databases. Although certainty in statistical reporting is always our goal, these figures represent a snapshot of those databases at the time the system updated the dashboard. Therefore, discrepancies between the posted data and the dashboards can occur if datasets are extracted and compared at different time intervals. Interactions between the business intelligence software powering the dashboards and the database system interface can also produce discrepancies since the dashboards update at varying intervals.
