About Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County

Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County was created in 1994 and, in that time, the program has displayed tremendous success. With help from members of the community, most wanted criminals have been arrested, narcotics have been seized, and anonymous tipsters have been monetarily rewarded for their information.

Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County is a not-for-profit organization. No taxpayer funds are used for rewards as the organization relies solely on donations for the continuation of the program.

How the program works:

  • Submit a tip online at p3tips.com
  • Submit a tip by calling the 24/7 hotline, 1-800-220-TIPS (8477)
  • Tipsters are provided a code number that is utilized to check back on tip status, add information, and to pick up reward money if their tip leads to an arrest.

Why Crime Stoppers works:

  • Cash rewards are issued for information that leads to an arrest--not a conviction.
  • Confidentiality-tipsters are known by code number only, even when the individual picks up a cash reward.
  • Satisfaction in making their community a safer place, anonymously.

Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County works jointly with the Suffolk County Police Department as well as all the law enforcement agencies in Suffolk County. Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County, Inc., is a member of Crime Stoppers International, a worldwide crime prevention program with its Headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
