Inspector William G. Silva

Inspector, Commanding Officer Fifth Precinct – Inspector William G. Silva’s education background includes: Nassau County Community College – Uniondale, New York, Long Island University – Brentwood, New York, New York City Police Academy - New York, New York, Suffolk County Police Academy - Westhampton, New York, FBI National Academy – Quantico, Virginia. He joined the Suffolk County Police Department in 1988 and was assigned to the Fourth Precinct as a Police Officer. Promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Third Precinct.
Promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Second Precinct and Seventh Precinct as a tour commander, the Office of the Chief of Patrol as staff, the Emergency Service Section as Executive Officer, the Internal Affairs Bureau as an investigator, and the Fifth Precinct as the acting Captain. Promoted to Captain and assigned to the Fifth Precinct and First Precinct as the Operations Officer, District Commander and the Office of Homeland Security and Anti-Terrorism as Executive Officer.
Promoted to Deputy Inspector and designated the Commanding Officer of the newly formed Homeland Security and Anti-Terrorism Bureau. He was transferred to the Fifth Precinct as the Executive Officer. Then Promoted to Inspector and assigned to the Fifth Precinct as Commanding Officer in August 2015.
