Suffolk County Police arrested a man early this morning for robbing an Apple Store and threatening an employee last Friday in Lake Grove.

Joseph Zavesky entered Apple Smith Haven, located at 516 Smith Haven Mall, on September 5 at approximately 12 noon. He then used a snipping tool to cut security cables and stole two iPhone 15s. When confronted by a store employee, Zavesky raised a hammer and threatened the employee before fleeing on foot.

Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives and Fourth Precinct Investigative Unit officers, with assistance from Southampton Town Police, Zavesky was located and arrested at a hotel in Bellport today at 1:25 a.m.

Zavesky, 32, of 4 Private Road, Eastport, was charged with Robbery 1st Degree. He is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip of September 7.
