Man Arrested for DWI After Crash that Seriously Injured his Passenger

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured his passenger and injured the other driver in North Bellport last night.

Anthony Kaisser was driving a 2021 Dodge Charger eastbound on Montauk Highway when the vehicle crossed over the double yellow lines into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Toyota Venza near Weaver Avenue, at 11:15 p.m.

Kaisser’s front-seat passenger, Marcus Jackson, 26, of Shirley, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. Kaisser, 28, of Shirley, was transported to the same hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota, Gloria Quiroga-Malla, 36, of Patchogue, was also transported to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Kaisser was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 29.

Both vehicles were impounded.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
