Suffolk County Police today arrested two people for selling alcohol and tobacco products to an underage person during compliance checks in the Second Precinct.
In response to numerous community complaints, Second Precinct Crime Section officers, conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol and tobacco products during which 14 businesses were checked for compliance with the law.
The following people were arrested:
Aman, 24, of S. Ozone Park, an employee of One Stop Smoke Shop, located at 233A Broadway, Greenlawn, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ibrahim Syed, 43, of Coram, an employee of Tobacco Corner, located at 117 Walt Whitman Road, Huntington Station, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, a Class B misdemeanor.
Both were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
