Suffolk County Police arrested a Blue Point man for possessing child pornography and promoting a sexual performance of a child.
Following a tip from police in Lafayette, Indiana, Suffolk County Police Digital Forensics Unit detectives investigated Nicholas Riggio and executed a search warrant at his home, located at 86 Montauk Highway, on July 23. Following an investigation, images depicting child pornography were found on a cell phone at the residence and Riggio was arrested at 4 p.m.
Riggio, 19, was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child Under 16, both felonies. He is being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 5.
