File a Police Report Online

You are now ready to file a police report online. Once you have submitted your report the following will occur:

  • You will immediately receive a tracking number via email and be able to print a copy of the report you just submitted. This will NOT be the official police report.
  • All incidents reported using the Online Police Reporting will be reviewed, on average once every 24 hours (possibly longer on weekends and holidays), and upon approval will become an official police report.
  • Once the report has been approved, a Suffolk County Police central complaint number will be issued and a copy of the official police report will be emailed back to you.
  • If further investigation of your reported incident is needed, you will be contacted by email or telephone.
  • The approval process may take up to five business days.  If you do not receive an email of the final report within five business days, please call the Suffolk County Police Department’s non-emergency phone number 631-852-COPS (2677).
